Outside of LeBron James, Kobe brings more money to a franchise than any other player in the league so why shouldn't he take the most money he can & why shouldn't the Lakers pay him whatever it takes. The Lakers are going to profit off this contract. I don't blame Kobe or the Lakers for doing this.
Carmelo on the other hand still has a shot to win. Him taking less money for the benefit of the team would have made sense.
