Wonder what happens here....will he miss the opening series of the first game against the Razorbacks or worse?

Just a recruiting tactic by Auburn here. Gus probably gave the kid the weed. Now more outcasts and fukk ups will want to play there

Most interesting plot twist to all of the story is SEC Media days are this week....Marshall is on the schedule to be one of the 3 team spokesmen to field questions live on ESPN MONDAY Should make for good TV. How will he handle the line of questioning....does he man up...does he stay behind in Auburn and not make the trip, thus opening up another distraction for Malzahn and the narrative of Thug U takes over leading into the season.

If you think that Arkansas is going to win that game, you smoked more pot that he did. Auburn could start their 3rd string QB and still beat Arkansas.

This is the same guy who got kicked off Georgia for stealing stuff out if the locker room. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I'm all for legalizing it and recreational use...lets do it. But when you're in the position he's in, have to be above it and keep clean for a couple years. Tens of thousands of dollars in scholarship $$ under contract for, team leadership in the fish bowl that is the SEC football machine....one arrest and a missed game could derail the season and effect your draft status plus teammates etc. Just saying he's not the typical dorm room kid who can smoke out with no effect on bigger issues.

I hear you and it's the SEC football isn't just a game down there it's a way of life I get it....but the cannabis plant goes back generations in my family it's just a plant brother to demonize it like he's doing meth or some hard drug and making a big deal about it Is well , silly. Cannabis won't make him any worse of a leader, student,or athlete may improve him in some ways....as stressed out ass this kid is and with the pressure he's under I'm sure it helps.

I am all for the legalization of weed, but the problem is you have no way of knowing if these kids(or pro athletes) are blazing before the game or not.

No one wants their players to be high on anything, be it weed, booze, or you name it, before a game. Remember, we are talking about the SEC here. The Conference that will allow a student-athlete to kill someone if they are a good enough player. The SEC is by far and away, the most corrupt conference in the nation.

We do not know that because they have not tried yet. Give them time. Some ghetto graduate will try. My guess is either Georgia or Auburn, with LSU a close third.

Weed affects everyone differently and while it may not give them an extra boost, it would more than likely affect their performance on some level. If I were running a professional sports team, I would want all of my players clean and focused on game day.

Let's not kid ourselves, if smoking pot didn't affect you in some way, then no one would do it.

Like they walk out on the field after token up in the locker room?

I would be interested in hearing some examples. Perhaps this is why wide receivers run the wrong routes.

I would be interested in hearing some examples. Perhaps this is why wide receivers run the wrong routes.
Tony Romo might have a valid reason for his performance now if this is the case

It is a fact that your thinking and reflexes slow down slightly after getting high. Why anyone would want to play a professional sport while they are stoned seems kind of silly. Wouldn't you want to play at your highest ability.(No pun intended)

If I were running a professional sports team, I would want all of my players clean and focused on game day.

I'm guessing you are not a big gamer...it only makes you better some of the time. It can affect you negatively with certain games and depends on the smoker. I mostly agree though, I don't see it helping before the football game but possibly aiding in recovery. He should have been more aware of the consequences. Or maybe he was and he made a bad choice anyway.
