Andrew Wiggins has all the makings of a draft bust
Taken first overall due to injury concerns to Embiid and the first spot was basically a toss up between him and Parker and it seems like teams more often than not make the wrong choice in these situations. Add in the fact that this is a highly touted draft class that is filled with talent that can produce multiple superstars Wiggins can easily go down as a bust a few years down the line.

I'm not crazy about Wiggins either. If I'm Cavs, I either put all my confidence in Embid, or go with the proven scorer Parker.

I'm not confident with any of top these guys

A lot of time lower draft picks end up doing better

wiggins has always seemed undersized to me and too erratic.

Let me rephrase what I said.

Probably not a bust in becoming a starter.

But most definitely a bust in living up to be a good as Lebron

their has been so much hype about Wiggins even before the season started, He was the unanimous #1 pick before the season and now his been drafted first. So much potential to live up to I simply do not think he will be able to live up to it.

He's a slightly better version of Ben McLemore.

That's the comparison I keep making. His game is identical to Rudy Gay coming out of Uconn.

I think Wiggins will do fine myself. He may not live up to the expectations of a number 1 pick but he has the skills to stick in the league for a good 15 years.

You guys are crazy.....He'll be an all-star within a few years

Obviously the explosiveness and athleticism is elite but he's also a shutdown defender....Just on that alone hes not going to bust

Would like to revisit this thread in like 2016

Wiggins is the ultimate team player which is needed in Cleveland with Kyrie and Waiters. This is a great pick. His upside is off the charts. The knock on him is that he's not aggressive enough but once he puts it all together, he is going to be an perennial All Star.

He needs to continue to learn the game. With Cleveland and their coaching staff I don't think is an ideal scenario, but a lot will ride on his attitude.

My comparison would be DeMar Derozan but slightly better on the defensive end of the floor at his peak.

In other words, a very good player for a lot of years, but not what some would consider a bust or a superstar.

by the time he developes (thats if) his contract will be up and he will go and sign with the highest bidder. Sometimes projects become a wasted draft pick. The first pick in the draft should have an immediate impact, even though more than half have been busts. Time will tell!!!

Love has gone on record as saying he wouldn't sign long term in Cleveland, unless Lebron went there. No Lebron=no Love.

The top 3 picks were idiot proof (which is likely the only way the cavs don't screw up another). If you want a bust look to #4 and wait a few years for the regret over not drafting Exum to sink in when this guy shoots 35% from the floor and 49% from the FT line. But he can jump!
