Soccer has a very sordid history. Don't ever think that these things can't happen, and happen often, because they have.

On a side note, African nations were really up and down this year. Algeria and Nigeria looked as strong as ever. Ghana looked shady at times, and their reputation has taken a hit. Cameroon are still the filthy animals they've always been, and really embarrassed themselves again this Cup. Ivory Coast didn't make it, but were fun to watch.

They could have played mediocre the entire game, lost by 1 or 2 and nobody would have known the difference. They played hard as hell for 89 minutes and you find one 7 second clip where they dont all work their ass off and call fix.

2. Happens even more on a WC game, because more people betting on this game.
3. Line moved on Portugal because it came out that Boateng and Muntari were fired from the team and people decided that was a sign that there are problems with the team chemistry.
4. Line for Germany - USA draw went from @4.7 to @2.2 at one point. Because the fix was in? No, just because the public was dumb enough to think they would both agree to a draw here. Line movement on WC games is one of the dumbest things to look after ever (same goes for Champions League) Those are big markets where millions of people put their dumb little bets in. Line movement in markets like Latvia, Iceland, Romania etc can be a strong indicator. But not in a WC game.
5. You don't fix games pregame. You do it live. Better lines, higher limits. The line did NOT show the slightest change inplay that suggested this scenario.

(Just btw, I do believe, that WC games were fixed before. f.e. in 06. And I'm not saying this cleeeearly wasn't. But there is absolutely NO strong evidence for this scenario, other then a player that doesn't pay attention for the split of a second until it's too late.)
