Guy looked good. All around the zone. Real tough for a team facing that for the first time. Starts Morse off with a 65mph hook then 90 on the hands next pitch.

Always root for the Pads to have someone fun to watch. Have a lot of friends in SD and its rough life for them.

Not one walk, outpitched a "seasoned" veteran.

not a good ending for what was one of Cain's better starts on the season.

I think they're still no walks.

Not sure if anyone mentioned that.

Are you still waiting for Cain to 'bounce back' or have you finally moved past that? When you look at what the Giants have been able to accomplish this year despite their two highest paid players (by far) being a blight on their team it's pretty amazing. Kinda makes you wonder if they wouldn't be better off moving them both to the bullpen and trying to swing a trade for someone who can actually turn in some quality starts. Colon could be available for a good prospect.

Hah shut them out. Guy has a 6+ era in minors, comes up and blanks the Giants. I read somewhere that Giants usually struggle against rookie pitchers they've never faced. Not sure if it is true or not, but sure looked like it tonight.

Oh how far Cain and Lincecum have fallen the last couple years.

Like I said, the mother of gas cans. Worst pitcher in baseball.

Fck Cain, this game was about that slow pitching old time newcomer, with his soft ball pitching and crazy movement. How the hell does this guy not have an mlb contract with some team! He throws low 90s and drops strikes on sub 70 mph pitches whenever he wants. It was truly unreal how inept he made posey and company look

He is going to be a star. Really unique action that makes him so hard to hit. Padres have found the diamond they so badly needed.

Normally I'd agree, but Cain looked pretty good until the 8th.

Not sure on the stats on this, but don't most teams in general struggle against rookie pitchers their first time facing them? Largely because scouting reports are minimal and there is next to no video on them?

Whoa, hold your horses. Let's see how he does after a few more starts. 1 strikeout in 7 innings. Also, a lot of different actions means a lot more can go wrong. If he starts struggling to throw strikes, could be a nightmare and the walks could really rack up.

We can only go on what we saw last night, and lets be honest, he was impressive. At least I was. Anyone who cant admit that the kid pitched a great game is just sour grapes.

dogs, even the giants announcers were raving about this kid's composure and stuff. they mentioned he was pitching for south american national team for many years, and well, those guys that make it in this league from there are difference makers. the announcers seem as dumbfounded by his era and other minor league stats, cause they were truly impressed.
