i have $300 to win $200 on a germany/portugal forecast to advance from the group. Even if portugal wins germany would have to win by a few and portugal by a few for this to have any chance right?

If Germany win by 1 goal against UUSA, Portugal would need to win by 4 against Ghana, if Germany win by 3, Portugal would need to win by 2 etc, i think Ghana will beat Portugal though.

It's simple man, the clock doesn't stop during either half so they add on stoppage time. It's a combination of substitutions, fouls, time after goals, injuries etc. that took time away from the actual play on the field. They guesstimate how much time was missed and add a few minutes on after the first 45 then after the 90th minute.

Well as far as I know they don't stop the clock for injuries ...

So to make up for the many times these guys are lying on the field in agony acting like they got shot in the leg,
they add extra time to the game ...so many extra minutes based on the number of injuries and the length it took to cart the
person off or tend to them...

Correct me if I am wrong...cause I really don't know much about soccer ..or futbol....but I did coach my kids team when he was a six year old...

The big teams, historical "favorites" as Klinsmann says, are not as good as everyone insists. They are all very beatable. No reason why USA can't win this game tomorrow. I don't know if they will, but they shouldn't be like +700 to +1000. Now, I know that that 3-way is very influenced by the tie getting both through, but still. Kadeira isn't that good anymore. If Jones plays as well as he has, we're just fine.

And this is from a guy who believes that the Germans are generally the only legit team that people consistently respect and rave about. Dutch and Germans (potentially) are the only teams that would have a distinct advantage on the USA the way they are playing right now. I need to see more from Colombia ... I'm not sold on France at all and Argentina is ALWAYS overrated. The home team should always be respected but they look nothing like they did at the Confederations Cup

Way too many people have a hard-on for the Nazis here. Portugal had 10 men for over half the game and Ghana was a tough out for them. USA been playing crisp offense both games and could do the same tomorrow. Their only problem has been clearing the ball out on D.

Now if the US takes some lame defensive position to ensure a draw they most likely will lose. Their offense is their best defense.

2-0 germany. Germany will control the game. Easily alot more possession 60%+. They will create enough chances to score atleast 2 goals.
Dont overrate USA, so much more talent on the german side, even if the full german bench would play...

This coming from a german. I honestly cant see germany losing this game.

Now, Ghana did outplay the USA, but that was the first game.

The favorites are all overrated, but that doesn't mean they aren't superior in some ways

We have been sheet defensively, offensively and mid. If that lazy giftless c u n t Bradley plays - the midfield will be dominated by the Germans, Dempsey will be isolated and the childish mistakes in defense will lead to a real spanking. Let's hope the Germans will play bench tomorrow...

anyone that thinks USA can win tomorrow, your S-T-U-P-I-D. Ghana outplayed them by FAR the first game, It wasnt even close, Ghana the least they deserve was a draw if not the win. Anyone that watched that game would tell you that. then USA played a shity portugal thats a 1-man team -ronaldo- and hes gone missing and no coincidence the team is just about k.o of group. Germany has something to prove after their lackluster performance vs ghana. without looking at the lines for this game, i thought it was going to be -200 at worst for german win. cashed big at -150 .

the only way both teams go in is with a victory from germany and portugal , and hope for a diff of 6 goals combine for both games. if its only 5 then they look at goals scored
