So in this spot you gotta ask yourself, who would the international betting public back in a spot like this? He very well is among the top few players in the world, but soccer is more of a team sport than any other sport. IT DID. USA odds fell a LOT until around 5:00 ET, only in last hour before match did Portugal odds drift back up. But still, USA closed at +293 at Pinnacle after opening at +426. And that's not to mention the comments from Vegas in Post #1.

if odds drops from 5.00 to 4.00 that's not the same as a movement from 2.50 to 1.50...

5.00 to 4.00 is very common, 2.50 to 1.50 = very rare = something fishy

I had this game as the best +EV bet of the World Cup up to date. I had to decide between USA win +395 or USA +0.5 +120 at Matchbook. At the end I went with the spread, as it had slightly better +EG. And I am glad I did

OTOH, Russia +0.5 -104 was crushed on a very late goal. And S Korea +0.5 -215 was a disaster. So, I have been about neutral for the cup, so do not take me leans too seriously. Tomorrow small leans on Brazil win -570 if someone takes my offer (Brazil not to lose -2400 is also tempting) and Chile +0.5 -164.
