Biggest mistake the Hong Myung Bo made was to not include Cha Du Ri on their line up. He's a veteran played in multiple WC, he's a great counter attacker. He wanted to go young, and it cost him. Their backfield is way too raw. They should play with an established veteran along side this young raw talent. If he wanted to go young, they have a promising goalie who's sitting on the bench. Jung Sung Rung whatever his name is has never shown he's a great goalie and he's reached his peak. If he truly wanted to go young for the future cup, why not put your new young goalie who has some descent promise. He played double standard and now he looked like a fool. Korea has suspect defense and their goalie is quite poor. You can try to mask that with good midfield which they have. Problem is Algeria played better then their midfield and now you can no longer mask your poor backfield and goalie and you get a wave of goals and easy opportunities.. Then to top it off, you have an aging, not in shape, quite possibly THE POOREST conditioned striker up front who probably is the slowest runner in the entire WC tournament. You put him in yet again against Algeria when he showed nothing against Russia, and have to burn a substitution in what like the 58th minute.
Hong deserved a reality check with his poor judgment and they got what they deserved.Comment
