Someone bet Argentina to win, $231K to win $20K

[Vaughany]

Now I am confused

When is the bet a loss?

Lol

[dontknowhowtobet]

The guy has to be sweating right now: Guy who bet $231K on Argentina to win vs Iran @WilliamHillUS to win $20K if Argentina wins has to be sweating. Draw he loses.

Where is the proof of the betting slip?

[Jatt24]

Where is the proof of the betting slip?

That dude from espn Darren Rovell tweeted it few days ago. Don't know if it true or not he just said William hill told him about the wager.

I'm no ticket reading expert but something doesn't add up with the story. Unless those 21JUN 12:03 and 21JUN 12:02 on the bottom of the tickets mean something else. Story says 100k bet was placed after, these tickets appear to be in the other order and generated back to back.

Could those be start times? Game was today (June 21) at 12:00 ET.

[thetrinity]

look at the first section white out, says 16:17:42 on one 19:01:19 on the other, so they must have been placed at different times

[brooks85]

yeah that make sense, start time then plus didn't even see those other times. Guy is crazy.

[mcdonae101]

Why would they have different start times tho?

[DA_MOSS]

wow

[LT Profits]

where do you see different start times?

One gave 3 minutes of leeway, one gave 2 minutes. Not sure why.

[jjgold]

Guy has to be a major Square based on the lines

[pavyracer]

Μany people leave money on the table when they refuse to bet money lines in football. You sweat all day to cover a -13 line when the ML was never in danger. Then you lose your bet on a garbage time touchdown and the book laughs at you.

But handicaps have lower juice which will even out that advantage, if any, over time. Even more so in soccer where you can get 2 cent lines on the handicap.
