Soccer will get up there, it will take awhile though. First and foremost the US has to be more competitive internationally.

Well it will NEVER move the NFL off its pedestal and the fall...which is when the European schedule rolls...so you can forget that....every weekend from September until February is reserved...and there's nothing that any sport can do to take the $$billions the NFL machine and college machine are churning up. That's the huge challenge that soccer will always have...and will never win

I always thought the MLS should try and play during the week when they get late into the season and go up against football. They hold the Championship match on the same day as the NCAA holds their conference championship games (which will be more important with a playoff then before), how crazy is that?

For one, the NBA and NHL play in arenas where 20-30K is the max capacity.

Soccer is being played in 75K seat stadiums and still only averaging 17K fans per.

What dude. Most MLS stadiums hold like 17k. Sounders play where the Seahawks do and that's the only exception and they usually only sell the lower bowl and close the top.

Never, unless the NFL implodes somehow and the best athletes switch to soccer. I wish we could see what certain NFL players could do on the soccer field though. If they played since their youth, we would dominate.

MLS is 3rd most attended sport. MLS can be more popular than basketball and hockey in the next 10-15 years easily.

Terrible comparison. You can get a good seat at an mls game for just over the price of a candy bar meanwhile you better bring the c notes if you want a good seat for an nba game.

Soccer will always be a popular sport amongst our children. They need a nice, primitive game to play before they move on to real sports.
