Problem is dynasties ALWAYS relax in reg season so it's hard to get a read on them. Every time, the stats are maddening.I went to EVERY back to back champ in the NBA since the celtics won 9/10 ending in 1968 and found an amazing stat every single NBA champ that won back to back and not a third, had a worse 82 game reg season the second year they won the title . Teams just take foot off the gas in reg season, it happens literally every time so if a team is in decline it's hard to judge, are they really in decline? Fact is they are usually just coasting. Like every team that won back to back has done in last 45 years. Look at the stats it is undeniable
