#11But were they gonna exceed 10 mil? If so theyre dumb too, I like him and he's good for the Spurs, but he's not worth close to that in relation to some other bigs.Originally posted by Roadtrip635Actually Portland wanted him badly and a few other teams as well.Comment -

#15The price was going to be in the 9-10 million range. The game may belong to the guards, but big men still get paid. This series and in the WCF, Splitter was average, but against Dallas and Portland, he was huge.Originally posted by jtolerBut were they gonna exceed 10 mil? #16If you look at what other bigs were signing for, its pretty much the going rate for any serviceable 7 footer. Not many offensive minded big men these days and they still get bank for being bigOriginally posted by jtolerBut were they gonna exceed 10 mil? #17Im more going by the stats, at 8 and 6 and not even a block a game, just dont think he's worth it, Spurs have enough scoring, all they need is a big who plays defense and rebounds. Id rather have Diaw on the floor than Splitter.Originally posted by Gonz312If you look at what other bigs were signing for, its pretty much the going rate for any serviceable 7 footer. #18Splitts did a hell of a job on Dirk and LMA. Plays good defense without fouling, doesn't get a lot of blocks, but alters a ton. He passes well, solid box out rebounder. It's hard to look at his stats and say he's a good player, but you can make the case for every Spurs player. Like Pop said, it sucks to play for the Spurs, because it's going to hurt your stats. Stats aren't going to look nearly as impressive when every player is only getting 22-28 minutes.Originally posted by jtolerIm more going by the stats, at 8 and 6 and not even a block a game, just dont think he's worth it, Spurs have enough scoring, all they need is a big who plays defense and rebounds. To be fair, Timmy takes a cut, so they can afford to bring in players and not just scrubsComment
