Messi played like shit. Whether he scored 1 goal or 4 goals is irrelevant, he can't play the same role he does at Barcelona with Xavi and Iniesta to support him. Argentina looked awful IMO.

I really question 2 of the ones Messi won. Even when Ronaldo scored more goals, they said Messi's team was better so they gave it to him. Then the year Madrid did better than Barcelona, they still picked Messi.

But there is no question (unless Argentina wins - but even still) that Ronaldo will win 2014's POY. He dominated Champions League and was better overall in domestic league.
