Should Gregg Popovich RETIRE after winning this Ring ?
We know he wont... But at 66yo why not?
Will go down as the best or Top 3 ever
He could name his TV contract

He should retire with Duncan, whenever that is. Maybe in 2 years.

Pop would not move to the commemtator booth. Hard to say when he would retire, especially with a young Kawhi. It was widely expected that Coach Bud would eventually take Pops place, but he signed with Atlanta last season. Pop would want to make sure the team is in good hands.

I think he and Tim Duncan should both announce their retirements after they get these rings and trophy. Love to see people go out on TOP. What else to do they have to accomplish or prove??? Go out on top like Elway did. just my thoughts

Heat win game 5 come back home and take care of business and i doubt any of you are crazy enough to bet against Lebron in a game 7.
The show is far from over. Take the Heat series at +1000 if you can still get it.

It's not LeBron people are worried about, the rest of the team sucks lately. They are not on the same level as the Spurs. Blown out twice @ home in the finals??? Come on Bear, you think the Spurs are going home to lose???

Doesn't seem likely but HEY, ya never know.
With the notoriously contentious relationship Bill Polian had with all things media while GM'ing, it was initially pretty amusing when he first popped up on the Mother Ship.
I think he gets the Spurs' ducks all lined up in order and rides off w/Duncan...

Pop and Timmy have at least one more year left in them. A back to back would be a nice way to end their careers and they're gonna look pretty much the same next year if no one retires.

The Heat are done.
Stick a fork in them.
I'll tell you what Bear....give me San Antonio ML in Game 5 for whatever price you want.
Deal?

I didn't mean they can't still play or coach, certainly they can!!! I just would like to see older guys go out on top, that's all. They have nothing to prove to us or themselves. I have seen too many athlete's hang on tooooooooooo long and ruin their legacy. Too many too list here. I would suggest one example: If Peyton had won the Super Bowl last season, I really think that would have been it for him ala Elway. Just my thoughts.

I hear ya, if they go out on top then that's cool too. I think they are too competitive though and want another. If they won last year then I think the chances would be much higher that they retire while going out champs their last two years.

He should stay. The team is amazing. Back to back finals appearances. I would laugh my ass off if the spurs go to four straight finals and completely undermine the heat.

the series is over
getting blown out, esp twice, means there is just something fundamentally wrong
i dont see why pop would retire
their team is still the best in the nba as long as the core is not broken up

theyve reached the Finals 2 consecutive years. if they stay the same, SAS can make another run easily next year. Give Duncan less minutes.

Pop would never go to broadcasting. You can tell the kind of guy he is.
Never really gave it much thought of him retiring and leaving the Spurs organization. The guy loves coaching. Loves competing. Hope he keeps it going!
