There are various training sites, there are poker "seminars" that pros offer from time to time, and some people hire a poker coach. That's about as close as it gets.

Host a server in Canada or Mehiko, bink Sunday Million or Sunday Warm-Up and there you go.

IMO that's all a waste and you'd be better off taking that money to the low stakes games to learn that way. If you're cut out for poker you will make it.

Good advice, If you absolutely want to spend money on something, sign up for a training site like card runners or blue fire. Otherwise, you're better off just networking with other players and learning from each other.

Big Bear, you might wanna consider looking at Jason Somerville's(JCarver) Youtube channel or Gripsed channel on Youtube. Besides, there are 2 Gripsed poker training groups on Skype, which are extremely helpful.

there used to be a "WSOP Academy".... I won a free entry to it and a trip to vegas during the wsop on the old espn poker site..... I miss that old site, it ran true, without the b.s. agenda(s) of fulltilt, pokerstars, blowvada, carbon, etc.... dealt as truly random cards as I've ever played on line.... as for the Academy itself, it was pretty good, got to meet and learn from Annie Duke, Annette Obrestad, that FBI dude on tells (very interesting), and some other blowhard whose name I can't recall.......

problem is, no way a three day seminar can teach you anything close to what all is involved in becoming an expert..... tho I did pick up some damn good tips..... put em to use right afterwards to final table my first wsop trny..... wasn't a bracelet event, but chopped fiveways as the chip leader, with each player peeling me off a few hundred extra since I had the lead... been hooked ever since.....
