All i know is the islanders swept the oilers in 1983 who had kurri,gretzky,coffey,fuhr/moog/ anderson,messier..all these players became super stars..when a team in this era matches that..wins vs super stars then they are superb...4 more hours to us open golf tees off...wont be long before tiger is back..he owned golf and was um superstar unlike what hockey 2014 is..garbage sport

FYI was on the Rangers. Funny how the simple minded assume one is a sore loser looking for an excuse for a loss when in fact I was merely pointing out a major factor in the game result. Oh and my Heat ML wager is one of my most comfortable wagers this year so far. Heat ML Game 5 is square but regardless, it's gonna be a winner.

Bob bourne said when the team lost to rangers in 1979 the tatste of defeat was that bad and made them not wanna go back there in the worst way..they went on to 4 straight cups and did so with unreal brilliance and potvin perhaps best 2 way defenseman ever..top 3...bossy best pure goal scorer..billy smith top 3 goalie in post season...john tonelli, nystrom, oring..3 players who ghad the heart of gold and tonelli had the motivation and heart to win that i have never seen in an athlete. I would compare john tonelli to tiger wooods..both in the prime wanted to win second to none..it was amazing

New York Teams are crap. All New York teams are crap. The Yankees, Mets, Jets, Rangers, Islanders, Sabres, Bills, Nets, Knicks, and Devils are all worthless. Only the Giants win occasionally.

As far as the Rangers are concerned, they only played two periods in each game. They were held scoreless in the 3rd period and in the OT's in EVERY GAME.

Since 2007, the Western Conference has won 6 out of 8 Stanley Cups. The two championships that the Eastern Conference has won went 7 games. The six championships that the Western Conference teams have won went 5 or 6 games. The bottom line is simple. The Western onference has much better teams than the Eastern Conference has. That is because they have better management.
