Just saw this on espn, if your gonna go after a pitcher go after him when you get hit, trying to throw his bat is just a cowardly move. He should be looking at a multiple game suspension.

I lost any respect that I had for him after the past couple of games. I'm surprised that Showalter, a guy that preaches to play the game the right way, is backing this idiotic behavior. I understand backing your player but this guy was totally in the wrong and his actions were complete fukkin bush league.

the replay from behind is especially telling to me.
the guy obviously had it in mind to swing and miss and throw the bat beforehand, but wasn't able to do it in a less obvious manner as the pitched as aimed at him and he had to dodge it first.
swing comes after the ball is by him.

yeah, he just turned 21 a few days ago
hitting almost .300 and almost 1.000 OPS in June
I'm sure he could recover from this injury
but I guess guys like Carlos Gomez, Yasiel Puig, and Manny Machado will be creating positive and negative waves in MLB for years to come and the old old timers and old timers (in their 30's and up) that were taught by the old old timers will be gnashing their teethComment -
