Who is the most confident/ cocky team heading into the World Cup?

Just curious what all of your opinions are on this.

I've been reading several quotes by various players and coaches when asked about their chances of success in the world cup.

so far from what i have read many of these teams seem to lack confidence...
That or atleast when they talk to the press they are afraid to say they think can win the tournament.

No doubt for me it's Brazil but I think they are overrated. In they other hand it's hard to find a team capable of beating them in Brazil.

Buffon of italy was basically like we can atleast make the quarterfinal. He said Italy usually does a good job beating teams they are supposed to beat but we might surprise the top teams... he just didnt seem confident they could win the whole tournament.

Also Germanys coach has sounded all that confident for a team who is 5 to 1 odds..

spain winning it in south africa in 2010 was the only time a european team won the cup when it was hosted outside of europe


so history is not on the side of european teams



then again, european football is lightyears ahead and the gap between european talent vs rest of the world has widened


european teams should do decently, i have this feeling that brazil will take advantage of the fact that they are playing at home and do decently as well

so spain, germany and brazil i like, i think one of them takes it

holland and england are chronic underachievers, argentina, italy and france are in a long term funk, portugal are not really a threat, never were

some fantastic squads in there that could make this interesting, like belgium and bosnia, but in the end, the world cup winners club is a very exclusive one and unless its in a video game, none of the lesser teams are winning shit


from the 3 that i like, i think brazil has the best chance, they have had more time to rest and prepare, while spain and germany players are barely gonna get a chance to take a breath
