From an International football perspective you're completely correct...Landon would deliver....unfortunately Klinnsman is not someone who's known to make smart decisions...and has been known to get destroyed tactically on the pitch Landon played a game with him and lost

- They didn't really use Donovan a ton when they ran over everyone in the Gold Cup. Yeah, it's the Gold Cup, but I haven't seen the US play such dominant soccer like that in a long time.

- Don't piss off your coach. No room for divas and people who think they are above the team.

- 4 Forwards is disturbing. Eddie Johnson should at least be on there. He can score against anyone. Then again, maybe he had Donovan's attitude.

- Club play and international play can be two completely different things. We don't have any real international stars in terms of position players (Dempsey was close, but nothing currently), but we have a team that can play together and wreak havoc if all falls right. Altidore can produce IMO.

I met Landon when he played with Leverkusen's Regional team many moon's ago in Germany when I was stationed there and he was a cool guy...he really didn't like the lifestyle...but hung with the Air Force guys a lot.
