World Cup Brazil 2014 - Group stage Contest

ANYONE INTERESTED?

I was thinking we could have a 500 BPs entry fee (at least, after all we have a WC once every 4 years) ... rules would be:

- post exact match result for each of the 48 group stage matches and send entry fee by June 11th
- 1 point for correct outcome (1, X, 2)
- 3 points for correct outcome & correct score
- tiebreaker: most "3 points" results
- not allowed to post similar results for all matches (final result for all matches "1-0",...)
- places 1,2,3 get 55%, 30% and 15% of the prize pool (maybe SBR can add some BPs to the pool prize in addition to the entry fees)
- multiple entries allowed
- SBR Pros only



I have been doing this type of contest with my co-workers for the past 3 WC's and EC's and everything went great (except for one year when a woman won the contest ) and we will do it again - I already have an excel sheet in place so it would not be too much trouble for me to run this contest

most likely ... still we could have this contest even if only 5-6 people join it and the winner takes all the BPs

I don't remember SBR having a contest for EC 2012 ... hopefully there will be one now

I started this thread 4 weeks before the WC tourney so people would have some time to start saving/making some points for the entry fee

not saying i would go for this strategy but don't see point why this should be restricted.
So if i post 1-0 for 47 games, and 1-1 for 1 game, am i good?

also point system can be different.

5 points for correct score

-2 points for incorrect outcome or unposted game. This is in case some lucky starter grabs quick points and then decides not to post for later games.

But this is just a suggestion. Can go your way.

Regarding your question, I would prefer to have a soccer contest not a coinflip contest .

My idea is just for the group stage matches, with results for all 48 matches posted before the start of the competition - regarding the point system, this is a system that rewards soccer knowledge and doesn't punish you if some matches turn out to be unpredictible
