Yeah he won alright. Just like some of the wins Shields got or Carmont won. i think all ten MMA sites gave the fight to Machida. Davis did nothing but get a few takedowns and run. Run from Machida lol. First time i ever saw anyone run from Machida. It is usually the other way around. You could keep dreaming on how Wonderful Davis fought Machida but anyone with a clue says Machida won that fight. Davis wasn't illusive. Davis was running.

I always remember how much trouble he had getting Lil Nog down anytime I start thinking Phil is good.

Not that I don't overrate guys at times. But Phil has always seemed massively overrated when the tape is clear that he sucks. His MMA wrestling has been nothing but a disappointment. With his credentials in college you would think he would be elite there....he isn't. His striking has always been basic and never improving. The guy is how many fights into MMA and he is still not comfortable getting punched or staying in range. There is nothing top notch about Phil. He struggled big time in getting a guy like Lil Nog down. He got straight owned with wrestling by Rashad. He has never out-struck a guy or shown any power at all. He is a wrestler who stands on the outside winging head kicks. What sort of style is that???

I thought he'd pressure Johnson up against the fence more if he didn't get the TDs. I would think he'd be able to control positioning there as well. Hats off the Johnson I guess for not allowing him anywhere near him.

Davis will probably never be a contender, but I did think he had what it would take to get past rumble.
