Benny there are good charities, bad ones and some in the middle. charity navigator tells you everything you need to know. Saying you don't believe in charities is essentially saying you don't believe people are capable of being altruistic. That is not a healthy, or accurate way to look at life I used to date a woman whose sister was dating this man. If he was still alive he would be about my age, he died at 31 I actually think about him and his death pretty often and it's been almost 20 years. this man was the son of the most powerful CEO in America. His dad was the head of time warner. Instead of living a life of luxury and privilege out in LA where his family was based he moved to NYC to teach in inner city public schools. The students found out who he was, assumed correctly he was rich, and they kidnapped tortured and killed him for the money he had on him and his ATM PIN number.
