Love 5dimes, would hate to be without them, but comparing them to what the entire city of Vegas offers, well, it's not remotely close, unless one enjoys only betting off sports like cricket, volleyball, handball, etc., etc. and or really into varying degrees of different prop wagering.

Make no bones about it, 5dimes to some people may offer a better option than Vegas, but no seasoned professional would trade them for Vegas, again, not remotely close at all.

It all depends on what type of better you are. If you like a variety of props and different sports while willing to get pay in a week, then 5D rocks. But by living in Vegas while having 5D and other offshores then you're in heaven.

Spot on. The problem is that most of these guys have no idea how to set something up in Vegas. They are also too greedy. They want the bonuses that the off shore books give to them. They are also the first ones to cry when they cannot get paid, which is often. The wagering public is much less informed today than they were just 10 years ago. Many of the guys in here do not even play. IF you really want to know how to wager the right way and do not want to get ripped off by some off shore book, get your tails out of you chairs, spend a few bucks, and go to Vegas. I am sure that there are people there like JJ that can stir you to runners who are legit and will get your wagers down for you.

Aliante has nickel baseball lines


Contrary to what so many believe, Vegas excellent for baseball, at many venues.

I just went to Aliante yesterday because my friend got hired there.

Talked to the guys at the book, and they told me that at most they will take a dime for each game even if I bet 7 or 8 games a day.

No, they take more.......just made a 2k wager there a short time ago and have made many in the past for 1500 and higher in bases.........

maybe it's because I'm new there? they limited me to 1K for every game for some reason. anyway, i don't go there often, just to say hi to some people once in a while.

i asked where i can find good chinese food in that area, and the pit boss suggested panda express dealers were cracking up at that one. view of the mountains from the parking garage is really nice though.

I think the Deutsche Bank analyst is too optimistic about a 2-year timeline, but I think within 5 years might be a -150 line.

The key is the Echelon casino operated by Genting. A lot of casino expansion in Asia over the next 20 years is focusing on the non-recreational gambler (total tourist) who brings his/her family. I think they are going to that here in a substantial way, and the first thing to do is cut smoking.

I think drinking/gambling/sex have a higher covariance than does smoking. Smoking used to have a much higher correlation 50 years ago.

This is NOT TRUE.

Before the Cal Neva sportsbook converted to WH, there was an old pro from NYC who ONLY bets on the -1 1/2 and -2 1/2 lines because he said he wanted the +200 plus lines so badly

I tracked him for several seasons, and he definitely was in the mid to high 50s% minimum. I asked him why he didn't bet higher limits, and he said he was mostly retired and he just does it for fun.

There was one time a few years ago Ubaldo Jimenez was like 0-5, and everyone in the book I talked to was betting on the Dodgers. The old guy comes in and he repeatedly barks, "Jimenez is due isn't he?" ... "He's due for a big one right?" He takes COL -2 1/2 for some kind of 200+ line, and Ubaldo throws a CGSO 3-0 As far as I recall, I don't remember him having a losing month during MLB.

I really have no interest in WNBA, but there is a guy I know who makes more money on WNBA than his regular job. If there is a line on something, there is most likely some pro out there who is making good money on it.

Not sure if I'm reading you you and others correctly on this smoking issue.........if you're saying an entire casino is going to go smoke free, that isn't happening anytime soon, let alone the entire strip.


Many areas in casinos now do in fact have smoke free areas.


The Silver City went total smoke free years ago and the place turned into a morgue, and eventually closed.
