Injuries had a lot to do with that.

we are seeing more and more guys with arm troubles
sports has changed a lot the last few years as injuries more the story than the game
take away steroids and see so many broken down athletes

Correct, he walks too many, only four starts last seaon when he did not walk a batter.
Last seaon, he was ranked 45th in WAR for pitchers, just pitcher, dude is overhyped.

He is a good strikeout pitcher but I think he is not the same since he 1st cam back, Wash never should of sat him in playoffs his 1st year as that was their only shot ever for a world series. it did nothing to protect him. It was a horrific decision

Typical big arm pitcher who the league has now had their little talk with to help the bookies in lopsided bet games. Couldn't have been a better set up unless he was playing Houston.

How is his velocity now compared to a rookie??

This guy lost velocity thanks to his injuries, you should pound big dogs against him this year, like the 2012 Lincecum and last year's Verlander. People will keep betting just because people know his name so there's going to be juicy lines.

Rocky I like your thinking
He seems partly done although can strike out guys still which is a positive sign

The guy has 2 pitches. 2. That's it. He'd make an excellent closer. As a starter, totally all-aboard the ESPN hype train.

Reminds me a lot about Lincecum's situation.
He relied a lot on his fastball and that made his changeup devastating, but when he lost velocity on his fastball, he lost his changeup. He still can strikeout a lot of guys, but he's also prone to leaving a fastball or changeup all over the plate.
Strasburg needs his fastball to make his secondary pitches better. This guys pitched all the way to the majors and during their best years to overpower batters with a fastabll. It's not easy to suddenly lose it and learn to pitch for contact or pinpoint accuracy

A reliever is more important than a starter nowadays if he is dominant
Can impact more games

No where to move the guy. Already have clippard, storen, soriano (who they're paying a lot of money to) on the back end.
Hell, if things continue this way, perhaps a stint in the minors is in the cards.

It starts from the top down, Rizzo is a terrible GM, he's the meathead that shutdown Stras a few years ago and caught all sorts of shit for that. Rizzo and owner Lerner who's nothing but real estate guy that doesn't know shit about baseball, let Riggleman walk, not only that, overpaid for PoS Werth, who gets 20 mil this year, and 21 mil for the next three years.
Rizzo overpaid for Ryan Zimmerman who's on the DL, Zimmy is due almost 20 mil a year through 2020.
That whole team just about is so overpaid it's laughable, the mediocre closer gets 8 figures a year, LaRoache gets 8 figures, Desmond gets 8 figures a year, it's a joke, what has this collection ever do?
Rizzo is a joke, he signed Yunesky Maya for 8 million and got one win for that.
Signed Pudge who had no knees, he gave hamburger Jason Marquis 15 million, Jason fukkin Marquis people.
If Rizzo had any brains, Rizzo, brains, too funny, he'd trade him now before he's FA eligible in 2 years.

I think he will be fine but in a few years I like the reliever angle
