#2Casino has an edge on everyone who walks through the door. Turn the tides on them and it's a law suit. Too bad the poor schmuck who dumps his paycheck into rigged slots can't sue the casinoEdge sorting has never been declared illegal anywhere,

I think he has too much money to lose and he plays in ridiculous games in Macau with billionaire Chinese degenerates so he has serious income. PLus he was hooked into Full Tilt from the beginning. His net worth is like 100 million. Gus Hansen on the other hand could be a candidate for such a fate.

Ivey has been broke plenty of times in the last 10 years.
He borrows massive amounts all the time.
Endorsements kept him going along with cheating ppl out of their money with the Full Tilt stuff.
Dude will be busted soon and not have any outs anymore to get it back.

Casinos get weird superstitious requests from high rollers all the time though which is why they probably didn't think much of itComment -

How hard can it be to get an expert to verify the cards prior to playing? There must be something I'm not seeing here.Comment -

#22Yeah I don't understand exactly what went on either. I think it happened as the cards were played and for the next shoe, but in high limit bacc they usually destroy the cards after a whole shoe is played I thoughtOriginally posted by The GiantSo, the casino is risking millions of dollars and they don't even realize their own cards are sorted?

#24What I don't get is that according to the story they were using a shuffler. If that's the case, what would it matter if he could tell what the cards are based on the patterns? Do they deal baccarat different in Atlantic City then I am used to in California and Nevada? I'm used to placing my bet before the cards are even dealt. If they are still in the shuffler and/or shoe... then who cares if you can tell what they are after they are dealt?Comment -

#26So Ivey requested a automatic shuffler and for the dealer to turn particular cards a certain way, and the pit bosses did nothing? All in a private high stakes room? All I can say is FUK the casino! If they didn't think something sketchy was going on, then the deserve to lose that money.
This kinda reminds me of how Target was hacked. Target knew a virus got into their system but wanted to figure out not only how it worked, but what it did. Once they saw damage it did, it was too late.Comment -
