What is the most overrated "angle"?
You read thread after thread around here and in certain situations you just read the same played out angles. The main one that bothers me is a west coast team with an early start on the east coast. It happens in every sport year after year. I am not saying it never effects a team but I think our ability to predict how it will effect a team is nothing more then a guess. Here are the ones that I have no data on but just seem to be overused and beaten into the ground.

-West Coast starting early on East
This one seems simple, noon kickoff is really 9am, they must be tired right? I don't have numbers on this but I have seen many teams come out of the gate and put a whooping on the home east coast team. These days teams fly out days in advanced and have their practice schedules reflect the game time. So why is this worthy of a blind bet?

    -Playing back to back days
This one bothers me because as a non-pro athlete I have played in tournaments or been in multiple leagues where we play 3-4 games in a two day span. These guys are conditioned to play everyday and this gets beaten to death especially in college conference tournaments. I've never felt like multiple games effected me so why should it effect these guys who train year round? I think it does hold some water in the NBA though, more from an effort stand point then a fatigue.

I know there are more of these beaten into the ground consistently but they are slipping my mind. Does anyone have any numbers on these kinds of situations?

Most angles are circumstancial, and not the cause they claim. Thus anyone without a good reason why.

None win more than flipping a coin.

It's all how you analyze the situation and see project the effect.

There you go - that's about it. The numbers are ever-changing. A trend that is 20 -5 could just as easily go to 20 - 6 as it could 21 -5.

In most cases there is no telling how long a losing streak will go on. If a team goes into a swoon, when will it get turned around?
