Question for anyone in an NCAA BB bracket contest

Is it normal for the same number of points to be awarded for picking the winner of the 1st round to be the same as for picking the winner of the Championship?

That's idiotic. Every one I've ever been in has a tiered system, some every round is worth 32 points. Some going 2,4,6,8,10 or something along those lines.

Yeah, I have been in some bracket contests that give max 63 points, 1 point per game. Someone that has great picks the first couple rounds can have more points than someone who picks the entire final four and champion. Crazy.
