why not make college basketball players have 6 fouls like the nba?

you don't see this shit in football, baseball, or hockey.

basketball is the only major sport where star players sit the whole half due to foul problems...

totally agree GK!......and I'll do you one better....they need to move the fukkin' three point line to NBA range....and make it universal at all levels!......most games nowadays are just 3 point shooting contests...they should have to earn that extra point.

Yep, a three pointer from the top is an easier shot than going down low these days. Needs to be NBA range and universal.

unfortunately for the Big East it would always come back and bite them in the ass once the NCAA tournament started because they were a physical conference and most teams played aggressive defense contesting layups and perimeter shots and the refs always call tight games come tournament time...IMO, It makes for a much better game when the refs swallow their whistle and let the kids play...

Watching college ball nightly for the last 6 years this thought has never popped in my head. As one poster stated the thread ratio is same as nba. Add in the longer shot clock and that makes less possessions to foul on. The one thought that did pop in my head though was making offensive fouls non team fouls therefore not counting towards the bonus. The bonus is such a huge part of some college games though and it is the best sport outside of the NFL. But if NFL continues with all this bs they are implementing then who knows.

It makes sense.
I said it when they made all those touchy rule changes for guarding ppl at the beginning of the college season.
You still have the bonuses and one-n-one's.
Nothing changes other than to let the big guys go a little harder instead of having to play like pussies because of foul trouble.

This absolutely makes sense to try, unless you're going to stop blowing the whistle every time a defensive players puts a hand up.

College is crappy to watch now, even during tourney time, it's declined because of the rule changes regarding foul calls.
Not to mention 100 timeouts, 10 reviews, and never getting to watch a good flow to a game without it having to go to break on a whistle.

They should also make the shot clock 30 seconds, maybe even 28.
All this focus on less defense and more scoring, you may as well speed up the pace of the game.
