K hasn't lost a step, but the college landscape has changed three times since the mid 80's. First change was no more 4 year players like Hurley, Laettner, and Grant. Second change was players leaving for the pros right out of high school or after one year like Shaun Livingston, Elton Brand, and Corey Magette, then the third change was taking on the impossible mission of Olympic basketball coach. Trust me, while K is trying to teach millionaires how to share the ball other coaches are out recruiting high schoolers to beat him. Now Coach K doesn't get the best one and dones and the players that stay four years are average and he has not had good a good post player since Elton Brand, so outshooting everybody in 3 pointers only last as long as the ball is going in the basket.

Duke has an incredible class coming in. He's got some big heavies to do the dirty work instead of those soft white boys. They will probably be preseason #1 depending on what Kentucky has coming back.

i do respect him and think he is the best coach i will probably see in my life but that doesnt mean you can coach every sport. lets be honest NBA and NCAAB are two very different sports. its also why i think Pete Carroll went back to the NFL. At least he relized it before things got bad.

lol what? the USA Olympic team could have no coach and would win easily. Ever since they lost gold now all the top players are playing every four years. Any college coach or nba coach could lead Lebron Bryant Mello Durant Wade and others to a gold medal. Hell you can just have Durant and Wade and still win the gold easily.

BTW there's no way coach k is a better coach than popovich. Coach k is a motivator. That's why these college coaches can't do anything in the nba like patino and that guy from kentucky. Guys like Izzo would be nothing in the nba. NBA is about X's and O's way more than anything else.
