he Raiders should sign Michael Vick as their starting quarterback/human sacrifice for the upcoming season.I know what you're thinking — signing Vick would be highly controversial. Sure it would, but the Raiders need some controversy. Hey, the Raiders need something. Vick is the best free-agent quarterback currently shopping his services around the National Football League.
It has been reported Vick will visit the Jets this weekend. The Jets are allegedly committed to Geno Smith as their starting quarterback, but Vick would win an open competition with Smith, if it comes down to that.
There's a local angle to the Vick story. It also has been reported the Raiders are in the conversation for Vick. So, let's hope the conversation gets serious. Let's hope it gets loud. It should.

Vick is an exciting quarterback. He used to be the most exciting quarterback in the league. He runs fast. He can be an accurate thrower. He is exciting in the way Colin Kaepernick is exciting. Well, he used to be. He's older now, 33, and he's been hit a lot, crushed actually, and he may have slowed down, may have declined. But he still is better than any quarterback the Raiders have.
Some Vick history: In 2010, the Associated Press and the Sporting News named him Comeback Player of the Year. Last season, a low point for him, he beat out Nick Foles as the Eagles' starter in head-to-head competition. But he eventually lost the starting job to Foles because he was hurt for an extended period. He played only seven games. In his first two games — when he was healthy — his passer ratings were 112.6 and 123.4. In his third game he ran for 99 yards. Those are elite numbers. The Raiders could use something elite.

3 AFC Championship appearances in last 15 years, and a couple other years they won playoff games......Nothing special but a bunch of teams haven't won a playoff game since the 90s....Jets get shit on more than a lot of those teams though

They have done O.K. as far as their other divisional rivals are concerned, but we all know how bad Buffalo and Miami are. The Jets are in the worst Division in the NFL. Conference wise, they are in the lower half. These last three years have been poor.
