Are your debts forgiven? Can you collect from his widow after a period of time? If she is collecting from people then she would have to pay out too, right?
What are the rules if your local dies?

#12if owed money confront closest family member, thats a male, never talk to the wife as a woman will think the debts are gone once the person is dead.
if you owe money, different story find a new guy and forget about the dead guy. If someone comes after you asking for the money you owe tell them you're not sure what their talking about, unless its the wife or a brother of the guy. Those people probably have the details on all the money owed and will go after you.Comment -

#15If this thread is not a joke and you want a practical response give a little more detail. How long you betting with the girl is your guy an agent or the book. Do you have any friends betting with him and where do they stand etc etc.Comment -

#23Being a student of the odds, I would guess that at any given time roughly 2 out of 3 players are IN DEBT to their bookie. Of the one-third who are owed $$, 3 out of 4 of those are only SLIGHTLY ahead. If you are only marginally ahead when your "local" rolls boxcars, I would suggest you do the honorable thing and do not ask his grieving widow for the chump change he owes you. Write if off, in lieu of sending flowers.
If you are that 1 in 12 guy who may actually be owed substantial coin, hmmmmmmm.......tough call.
My guess, however, considering that we're discussing this on a degenerate forum like this one, I'd say that if the bookie actually passed (doubtful), there's a slightly higher probability that the OP somehow "offed" his guy in the hopes that he didn't have to pay whatever debt he had accrued.
Sorry, boyz, that's how I crunched the numbers.......Comment -

#24Funeral crash.
Bang the wife.
Steal the $ money owed in the morning, not a penny more tho.
If you cant find cash, seek possessions that are estimated to that amount.
Morning bang the wife and then get out of there.Comment -

I was just wondering if any of you have experience with this or have heard of what happens

#28This happened to me a few years back........
Wasnt my bookie but I had a decent sized sheet w/ this guy. The weekly fig was around -2600 after commission.
That money + my comission + a nice chunk more on top, went right in an envelope and was handed personally to his sister for expenses. No brainer
Not settling never even crossed my mind, guy was diamonds.Comment -
