About 15yrs. ago, I hit the twin trifecta carryover at Trinity Meadows for $50K, I believe on a $32 ticket. IRS took a big chunk at the track, then it bumped me into higher tax bracket and had to pay ever more tax.

Even if there is not a winning ticket, they have to pay off on the closest ones.
