#37My favorite futures are Royals to win AL Central at 5 to 1 up 6.5 to 1 depending on where you look.
D-Backs to win AL West at 12 to 1.
Brewers to win NL central at 10-1
Tigers to win World Series at 8 to 1.
If you take Royals 6.5 to 1 to win division and Tigers at 8 to 1 to win world series you are kinda hedging in case the Tigers have an injury plagued season and its possible Tigers could be the wild card team and still win the world series
wouldn't you lose both those bets?Comment -

Teams like the Royals and A's run a quality starter out there every day and have sold bullpens but they arent built for a playoff series like the TigersComment -

#44Ofcourse if the Mariners somehow made the playoffs they could potentially beat anyone in a 5 game series with King Felix going in game 1 and game 5Comment -

#48Sam Diamond,
You honestly think the Pirates are a more dangerous team in a 5 or 7 game series than the Phillies or Blue Jays?
The Pirates are a good regular season team they run a quality starter out there every game which always gives them a chance to win...
However they dont pack enough punch in their batting order.
If your a Tigers fan and you got Verlander on the hill in a decisive game 5 or game 7
A team with some big boppers like the Jays, Orioles, or Rangers is going to strike more fear in you than say
a Rays, Athletics, or Royals type team all of which are more built for the regular season...
see my point?
While the A's , Royals, Rays may get to the playoffs they stand no chance of taking down the Tigers.
They just cant hit well enough...
Aint nobody wanna face that Blue Jays line-up and Dickey with that crazy knucklerComment -

I am going to punch myself in the face after I post this. I should know better than to even respond.
Making a future bet has NOTHING to do with who will win a 5 game series.
You have taken a position-- the Phillies to win the NL --- and are not even trying to explain how the fuk Philly wins their division. The Phillies are old, slow, and not one of them will make the entire season. They are broken down. And now Hamels is having issues--he'll end up on the DL at some point. Philly's middle relief sucks donkey balls.
The question is-- which team, Pittsburgh or Philadelphia--- has the BETTER chance at making it to the post-season, and giving you a chance to win your bet.
And that is overwhelmingly Pittsburgh.
The Pirates are so much better than Philadelphia --- they have better positional players, a deeper starting pitching staff....they are younger, they have a better pen.....
And when you compare Cincinnati to Philadelphia, its even more ridiculous. Which positional player from Philadelphia would start for Cincinnati? Howard over Votto? The only position Philly has on Cincinnati is at shortstop.
When making a futures wager, you're not betting on a potential match up in September, you're betting on which team can make it that far.Comment -

#58first of all ... the best pitcher in baseball this year will be jose fernandez
second of all ... the phillies pitching staff outside of lee and hamels is absolutely atrocious
third of all ... the blue jays are a huge hit or miss .. will reyes be able to steal 50 bases this year? probably not because he won't stay healthy.. do you know in over 90 games last year jose reyes did not hit 1 triple? NOT FUKKING 1 .. he stole 15 bases and got caught 6 times .. thats not a good percentage .. melkey cabrera absolutely sucks dicckk
fourth of all ... these are Brandon Morrows stats
........where do you see the fact that he has good stuff? his stuff is obviously very hittable and touchable2007 22 SEA AL 3 4 .429 4.12 60 0 18 0 0 0 63.1 56 29 29 3 50 5 66 1 0 4 289 107 1.674 8.0 0.4 7.1 9.4 1.32 2008 23 SEA AL 3 4 .429 3.34 45 5 24 0 0 10 64.2 40 26 24 10 34 1 75 0 0 5 265 127 1.144 5.6 1.4 4.7 10.4 2.21 2009 24 SEA AL 2 4 .333 4.39 26 10 9 0 0 6 69.2 66 38 34 10 44 1 63 0 0 3 313 97 1.579 8.5 1.3 5.7 8.1 1.43 2010 25 TOR AL 10 7 .588 4.49 26 26 0 1 1 0 146.1 136 76 73 11 66 0 178 9 0 8 629 93 1.380 8.4 0.7 4.1 10.9 2.70 2011 26 TOR AL 11 11 .500 4.72 30 30 0 0 0 0 179.1 162 103 94 21 69 1 203 12 1 12 777 90 1.288 8.1 1.1 3.5 10.2 2.94 2012 27 TOR AL 10 7 .588 2.96 21 21 0 3 3 0 124.2 98 45 41 12 41 0 108 2 0 3 504 143 1.115 7.1 0.9 3.0 7.8 2.63 2013 28 TOR AL 2 3 .400 5.63 10 10 0 0 0 0 54.1 63 39 34 12 18 1 42 1 0 1 242 73 1.491 10.4 2.0 3.0 7.0 2.33 7 Yrs 41 40 .506 4.22 218 102 51 4 4 16 702.1 621 356 329 79 322 9 735 25 1 36 3019 101 1.343 8.0 1.0 4.1 9.4 2.28 162 Game Avg. 9 9 .506 4.22 46 22 11 1 1 3 149 132 76 70 17 68 2 156 5 0 8 642 101 1.343 8.0 1.0 4.1 9.4 2.28 Comment -
