    MLB bans home collisions.
I understand the risk factors, but this has always been part of baseball.

    Horrible call.

    What do you think?

Long overdue. Baseball is not a contact sport.

      probably for the best

good catchers are hard to find and it doesnt make sense that theyre the only targeted player on the field since its not legal at the same level anywhere else on the field

tough guyes might say its part of the game but like cookie says it aint football

Yes, I understand. For a fan it's bad, for the players it's good.

I hate violence, but like home plate collisions. Good point about catchers though, they are often an underestimated part of a team's/pitchers success. LaRussa never hesitates to call Molina the most valuable player on his great Cardinals teams.

Mixed feelings, like the physicality of the collisions, but catchers have to endure enough shit behind the plate to be sitting targets for some meathead to plow through them while they are simultaneously trying to catch a ball and apply a tag.
