I stormed the court a few years ago as a student when SCar beat #1 Kentucky when they had Wall and Cousins......We were unranked and a perennial NIT team so it was legit.....good timesComment -

I don't like UNC but whats wrong with dancing in the locker room after a big win or storming the court after beating the number 5 team, your rival? I surely don't see any problem at all. These guys are in college, they aren't pros. They're going home to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after the game (well maybe not the UNC players) but still, you get the point. Duke storms the court when they beat UNC at home, and UNC storms the court when they beat Duke at home. It's a tradition and the only time it doesn't happen is when one team really does suck out loud. It will happen any close UNC-Duke game. If you didn't know that, you just finished watching your first UNC-Duke game, and you probably shouldn't be betting on anything college basketball related, because you don't know shit about it.Comment -

TS got it right and if you disagree you must be younger than 17. You dont storm the court against your rival, ever. You dont storm the court if youre supposed to be a storied elite program really ever. Especially since you have a pretty good record this year and not like youve been scraping by for wins, doesnt matter if you were, youre UNC you just dont storm the court and especially against a team in your conference, not to mention youve played one another for well over a century. Now Duke's just gonna be focused on ripping your heart out when you come to Cameron in a few weeks and youll have hell to pay. All true. Well except the part about Duke storming the court. Duke isn't going to storm the court for beating this UNC team. You never storm the court for beating a weaker team. Not unless it's some miracle last second come back that ends on a buzzer beater. Plus a completely spontaneous court storming is usually acceptable. (Depending on the circumstances anyway.) Reverse the Austin Rivers game a few years ago. Say UNC hits that shot at the buzzer to win the game after making a 15 point comeback in the final minutes, I don't think anybody anywhere gives UNC shit for storming the court in that situation. It's a crazy moment where your emotions do a complete 180 in just a split second and a little hysterical euphoria is acceptable. But only when something crazy and unexpected like that happens. Otherwise, unless you're winning a championship or some once in a decade milestone game you got no excuse. Especially if you had time to think about it. If you had to think about storming the court, then you shouldn't be on the damn court. Unfortunately UNC has spent so many years building Duke up into this sinister/elitist/all powerful enemy any time they actually come through and win they feel like a bunch of medieval villagers who just slayed a dragon. The rivalry has gone to their heads and become a truly good vs evil cultural battle for them. And what they don't even realize is that the rivalry is over. At least from Duke's point of view. They feel betrayed by all the corruption and cheating over there in Chapel Hill. Plus UNC's program is on the downslide and has been for years. You watch, Syracuse is going to become Duke's biggest rival over the next decade as academic changes and looming NCAA sanctions slowly drag UNC into total mediocrity.No more of that talk, or I'll put the leeches on you.Comment
