Seto, he does have a point on this .

Im a sports fanatic myself but its absurd they get paid so much more then certain professions.

Always been my pet peeve on sports, especially since the deals started going crazy in the Scott Boris era

Yeah I mean it's not at all an issue that's already come up, been debated and redebated on millions of times at all.

Seaweed is the first person to ever realise this.

Seems a bit too much money to play a game.

But the guys in the NFL do risk their health in many ways.

And they don't get to play for a long time depending on their position.

Funny how even when a lot of players get paid a ton they end up

Broke like a lot of people not long after they are done playing.....

Good point, as I remember someone bringin this up before on a conversation about this .

X amount of money is going to be brought in regardless, so would rather see the players get that money

                              then the owners.

The sports players are paid so much because there are people willing to pay huge prices for tickets to watch the games. It's completely our fault, the fans.

The reason they get paid this money is because they generate it. The only reason the nba is so rich is because of these guys and their ability. That's why they actually earn what they make. We pay them this. If it costs 100k for a bypass surgery the doctor gets his cut but the cost is the cost. The doctor would make that money if he had 300 surgeries a day. I agree it's too much for these players but we keep buying the tickets so....

Ticket sales only account for a portion. Networks pay big money to broadcast sports. Advertisers pay networks to show their ads. The more popular the content, the more you can sell the spot for. Pro athletes have rare talent in high demand in a lucrative business. No doctors can jump 10 feet.

compare income levels for doctors from ages 40-70 to former pro athletes from the same age range and I think you'll see that it evens out juuuuuuuuust a little bit
