The real evil here is done by philli. Taking advantage of this guy for publicity. That is the only reason they doing this. They could easily just let the guy be involved In a pregame. I'm sure the kid is infinitely more excited about the prospect of being signed by an NBA team for a couple days than he would be by simply going to a warmup...so maybe that's the reason?

Personally i dont the kid knows the difference between a binding contract versus going through the exact same motions without a contract. I feel like he wouldn't care even if he did and that what he's most excited about is hanging out with everybody. I'm not saying they don't give a shit about the kid. I'm saying their number one reason in doing it is PR related.

Think scored 14 points in last game. What will 100 more people show up to tonight's Sixers / Cavs game Becaue of this? This kid did more than Andrew Bynum did minus the 13mil he made

P.R move or not (which it probably is) I don't see the Sixers gaining much out of it. And in the process made this kids day and his families who I'm sure have had quite a struggle. Certainly far less evil and manipulative than the Nfl's yearly business venture of exploiting a deadly disease to rake in millions from a form of cancer everyone is perfectly "aware" of!
