#4There is no such thing as bad beat. You either win or lose, doesn't matter if the win came after trailing by 25 points or if you lost after up by 25. All you need is money management. I suggest that you use BR Money Management But again if you are making $100 deposits and going all in there is no point. You are probably better off saving those $100 until you get a significant roll then deposit them all together and bet patiently. At the end of each week adjust the unit size as advised in the above money management. You will be surprised how your bank will grow if you are patient and disciplined. At first the growth will be slow but as the winnings slowly make the bankroll bigger your bet sizes gets bigger and you profit more. I used to be one of those bettors who deposits $500 to $1000 every week or so and lost my a$$, not because of bad picking but because of bad money management. Since i discovered br i took the advice saved 10k, and now i have over 100k bankroll that brings home more than what i make from my full time job each year.Comment -

#18sorry about your bad beat... I knew that 2nd quarter was bogus. Cavs had lost confidence and Knicks cruised I guess being up 20ish? wasn't watching. but after I took a bad beat myself, I went ahead and bet Knicks 2h over 97.5 -105 to win $540.Originally posted by SeaweedAnything to ease the pain?
I was counting on the typical 4th quarter in the NBA when a home team is blowing out their opponent and scrubs play most of the 4th quarter and it leads to a lot of open shots, 3 pointers being shot and lots of fouls down low.
At least this is how I view the NBA and bet live or bet the 2h at times. I remember distinct situations from previous games/years and when it shows up again with the right situation/teams playing... I bet it, don't even think about it.
You missed a couple. Be patient. Get the next one.Comment -

to your post a lot of posters here just gambling for the rush and arent look at it as an investment... they would rather make 10 100 dollar deposits then wait until the 10th day and just deposit a 1000 dollarsComment -

#29True but those kind of bettors shouldn't start threads like this then. Betting for rush will soon turn into long depressing nights of refreshing the scoreboard and missing out on family and friends and other important matter. If you ask me, there is no rush in that...its the exact opposite.Originally posted by ebbearsfb1long but very good read.

#32You have to just keep a long term perspective. Consider all gambling losses as investments in yourself, and learn from your mistakes. After a few bad beats, you eventually become numb to it though. I'm probably down $2,000 since October, but I just got started and consider it an education.Comment -

For 95% of us bankroll management is just a way to mitigate our lossesComment -

good post... unfortunately this is sbr.
what i have found is best for me is to stick to a certain system i've used and if nothing fits that day dont force it just because
but like others have mentioned your picks still need to be solid or your just delaying losingComment
