It depends on what you buy. I think they are worth about 4.5 cents if you buy a $20 pizza. Originally we bought and sold them from non US guys at .07 based on the Euro being 1.3.

IF I could get cash for them I think abt .066 but its been a while since they cut off many nonUsa veteran posters. It was nice when we could at least get Mbookers cash.

I would say roughly 4x more than current. For US punters, they were worth 100x more than now.

When you could sell your points via Moneybookers, they were 7 cents each.

For us non-americans, they're currently worth about 0.067cts ($100 GC for 1500pts).
So essentially Pauly "the stiff" Poker, by stiffing 900pts is stiffing $60. Put like that I'd really like for him to stop being such a deadbeat one day and pay up.

For Americans, they were quite valuable at the beginning, because you could buy sportsbook cash and freeplays. BetJamaica, the Greek, Bodog, 5 Dimes. I think also BetPhoenix and SIA.
There were a bunch of times when the prices rose, but the biggest blow to the value of points for Americans was when sportsbook offers were removed.

Anyone remember all the lame posts we had from people just point-whoring? You'd have someone with 25 posts a day of "" and points were awarded for it.

The initial roll out was a disaster. We did not even have a store or any way to redeem them but guys were going crazy posting for the 1 point a post.
There were some very strange looks around SBR headquarters in the hallways during those days.

OK, let's get started;
Sea/Den Under 24 1st half for 5000.
Lets fade Phx at Indy-11.5 on a back to back for 1000
Gets you more than half way there.

Points were much more valuable at the start, but they were harder to get. I think 2 points daily for logging in. When the store started offering sportsbook free plays, BetPhoenix was great value (and wagerchief offered an even better value for a few weeks). Too bad BetPhoenix were still throwing money away with 100% FP bonus in reloads if you busted, so I had no chance to bought freeplays. Next best was sportbet (a 5dimes skin) freeplay. Maybe at highest value they were close to 20 cents per point. I am sure Sportbet FP had a value about 13 cents per point in 2010. On early 2011 they went down to about 10 cents (when freeplays were discontinued). Since then the inflation has taken some value out, and now they are about 7 cents per point.

when it first started, was it Tpowell that used to post close to 1000 posts per day, because you got point for every 100 posts and extra extra points when you hit a something-K threshold?
that changed fast

Beauty is the eye of the beholder. Other than the brief window in which I was allowed to reconcile for Pinny Points, the currency has no value other than the goodwill created by support of charity or the fellow poster.
Miss being able to throw a coupla hundie to a good poster or a poster in need.
