The Bucks were a very successful franchise in the 80s, and found more success in the late 90s and early 2000s leading to an Eastern Conference Finals loss to AI's 76ers.
They've been pitiful since around 2003/2004 due to terrible management. We realize no free agents want to come here but there are other ways to build a contending team besides free agency. Just look at the OKC Thunder. If they were a perenial 20-30 win team, no one would want to play there either. People are excited to join up and coming contending teams if the pieces are there. The Bucks got a great piece in this last draft (Antetokounmpo) who is the future of this team, along with a couple of other bright stars like John Henson and Wolters. They'll more than surely get a top 3 pick in this upcoming draft and get one of Joel Embiid, Jabari Parker, or Andrew Wiggins. This team has a very bright future as long as management doesn't continue to sign declining veterans to bloated contracts just to compete for the 8th seed in the East.
