Chickens can fly - They just CHOOSE not to. Like the NFL chooses to be ignorant and play the SuperBowl on Sunday.

People will be coming in Thursday/Friday for the event.
They will spend boatlaoads of money on Saturday, shopping, bar hopping Saturday night, whatever.
Kickoff is late afternoon, early evening, the party goers can close down the bars Saturday night, get snotted and still recover for kickoff.

Corporate/sponsor thing is the reason why it's played on Sunday, plus it's a proven fact more people are home in front of their sets on Sunday nights, more so than Friday and Saturday nights combined.
They have two weeks of that stuff, I dont see why one more day makes a huge diffrence.

Actually chickens can fly if you carry them on a plane.

                This ones easy - MONEY

                1. The average person that goes to the super arrives on friday and stay until monday. That would decrease big time if the game were moved

                2. They have events going on saturday like the owners party

                3. Saturday is an absolute Graveyard for television

                4. The more they can Isolate the game the better (why compete with 611 college hoops games?)

                5. Commercials - they need to ensure the maximum amount of people view their crappy ads (by having the game on sunday there is a bigger chance the whole family views the commercial)

                6. And the most IMPORTANT. Sponsors want you to be sober! They not only want you to watch they actually want you to remember the commercial the next day.

no wonder the rest of the world hates us.........

No one knows when the game will be played this year. It is still scheduled for Sunday, but could be moved to Friday, Saturday, or Monday depending on the weather. Good work NFL. Incase none of you have ever been to a Superbowl, what goes on during the week is often more exciting than the actual game, and a lot of these activities will be wiped out because of the frigid weather in New York. Another failed NFL idea.

OK first of all, they have those contingencies every single year and this isn't the first time the Super Bowl has been played in a cold weather city like Detroit and Minnesota. Yes those previous games were indoors, but playing indoors isn't going to help fans get to the stadium in a snowstorm.

Football was made to be played in the elements. Anyone who says otherwise is just a whiny little b*tch. And I don't give 2 turds if some Super Bowl parties are inconvenienced. And anyone who says the parties are more exciting than the game just isn't a football fan. Sounds like something my sister would say.
