    Federer -125
Murray still recovering from back injury.

Federer playing lights out at the moment.

With djokovic gone, this is a great oppurtunity for federer. He will be very motivated.

    Federer will beat Murray.

    Good Luck.

I am on Murray.....both easy schedule to this point, Murray's back will be just fine....

I actually think Djokovic being out hurts Federer in this match, just like it hurt Ivanovic against Bouchard.....he will be thinking 'this may be my lost shot at the Aussie.....this pressure will NOT be good for him.

I hate to bet against the friendly lion, but today that's the way it is going to be.

    GL Lion.

Another of those matches where I think people try to outsmart the room playing a side when there seem to be better options to try for the match.

Difficult to call. Murray is an entirely different animal that Fed has faced thus far. Tsonga is a terrible returner for the most part, so Fed will not be getting nearly as many easy points on-serve tonight. Tough to know Murray's true fitness level. This will probably be a very telling match for him.

We are privileged to have two great all around players doing battle this evening. Both have the physical skills and mental toughness necessary to win is tournament, but only one can. I lean towards Roger in this match. I believe he I fitter and that he will present more problems with his coming to the net style than Mr. Murray can handle. It all depends on Rogers backhand tonight, and he will triumph.

                Good luck.

IMO it is as simple as this.....I am getting even money on a player that is 8-4 against this opponent in their last 12 meetings on true hard court surface. Federer has changed a few things in his game of late and he looks good, but I like the psychology here for Murray, I like the match stats for Murray here and I am getting even money.

This is a simple case of NOT overthinking things, I am taking the younger player that is ranked higher and has a winning percentage against the other player and an even higher win-rate on their current surface and the player that is at a point in their career where they have less pressure on them (although Murray always puts a ton of pressure on himself). I like the way Murray takes on Federer and he has always (even before he became a top 4 player) has given Federer a headache.

By NO MEANS am I saying that Murray is a lock....I have never done such a thing....but I believe that this is the correct side to be on at this time, given everything I know.

                      Pressure building on him now

                      Murray a champ

                      Tsonga is a proven loser

hes recovered, he wouldn't be playing if he wasn't. Murray's had enough matches, he will be ready. Feds in for a tough match. He's played well, but Tsonga was asleep for half his match. Andy hasnt won this tourney yet. Here comes the sleeper

This is what I'm talking about. Vyomguy made his point loud and clear. Murray's back injury concerns him. Dollars2Donuts came back with his thoughts. This is what the forum should be filled with on a daily basis. Intelligent back and forth views on a match before it happens. These are people I would have a beer with because they would be able to hold intelligent conversations, even when tipsy.

This guy is a big contribution to SBR.

With that said I agree on this pick, Federer always plays well in the Australian open, regardless of his age he's looked sharper than Murray recently.

Also Murray is participating in the US-Britain Davis Cup here - in my back yard - Jan 31st- Feb. 2nd - not to say that that tourny is more important, not even close, but his issue with that irregular bone in his back might be something to consider along with his conditioning.

I have some concern over Federer's tactics heading into this match. He might rush the net a little more than in previous matches against Murray. He rushed the net a lot against Tsonga and it might carry over against Murray, which would be a bad idea. Murray is a far better returner than Tsonga.

Maybe you should tweet Fed and give him the heads up.
