Kind of 7 degrees of separation but I went to grad school with a woman whose husband was a pro capper. I was pretty good friends but wasn't into capping back then (7 years back) and since lost touch. When the subject came up (again I wasn't interested back then so I only parsed basic info) I learned that he was averaging around $800k per year. His biggest money came from NFL and his biggest win was betting on the Giants vs. Patriots Super Bowl. He bet playoffs often as well.

Don't know about other pro cappers just this guy (he also hired a handful of people to keep full info on every single NFL/CFL team and place bets for him in person in Vegas). All I know is that he still bet playoffs fairly heavy and did extremely well at it. Just saying that at least some pro cappers probably bet playoffs just like the rest of the season and do fine. Few make that level obviously.
