Regretting my last min decision to go heads up with you--guess I was destined to buy you a large Pizza Hut Pizza!!! But for two brutal suckouts, the last one of which you saw, I might have had something for you, czu and imack..... congrats to all the top five (yis and shograu, solid as always!) ADComment -

#40Even though I was the major beneficial party of the skewed format, I agree that the format for the World Cup is a farce.
A better format would be turning the daily tournaments into a league format, lasting a quarter of the year each time. Points will be allocated according to your finishing position in each tournament, and maybe the top 75 gets allocated into 3 different tournaments, with different prize pools for Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3, Tier 1 having the biggest prize pool etc.
Off the top of my head, here's a thought bout a new format: Play for say ~3-4 months, and the Top 4 peeps at the end of that qualifying period are designated Team Captains and then a DRAFT is held from players 5-48 to fill out the 12 man rosters.
Common SBR!... tell me a draft like this wouldn't create some excitement for a moribund series that next to no one gives two shits about. Peeps would be interested in THIS for myriad reasons. Can even promote "Draft Day" with some clever shtick/points possibilities (#1 pick gets a FP, etc., stuff like that) Guys drafted low would have incentive to beat the high rounders... lots of interesting scenarios would be created to talk about in forum. Most importantly, if would infuse some strategy and *restore* merit & fairness back into the qualifying process.
BOTTOM LINE: Something like this or what ballsflop suggests would be better than the WC snoozer that (wait for it): NO... ONE... CARES... ABOUT.Comment -
