That being said, what he did in Tampa was an incredible job turning that franchise around. No, I don't think he's HOF worthy but the job he did in Tampa and taking that defense to becoming one of the greatest of all-time was amazing. He just couldn't get the offense over the hump or the motivation high enough in the playoffs. Gruden cured those areas and won the Bucs their first ever SB. Dungy went to Indy and helped that defense just enough to win the city of Indy their first ever SB.

Dungy never won a super bowl in Indy, Coach Manning did. Dungy did absolutely NOTHING with the offense and that is what won it. There were times when the Colts were on their side of the 50 and Peyton Manning called Dungy off as far as punting. Imagine that, the player calling the coach off and guess who won that?

He had 0 game planning ability at all. Cover 2, Cover 2, Cover 2, Cover 2 and if the Colts/Bucs had a real coach they could have won multiple titles.

He had super bowl quality teams for years in Tampa but they would always get bounced out of the playoffs after a game or 2 and they were favorites not dogs or anything.
