49ers (-1) at Panthers is the Best Bet on the Board in NFL This Week

Last time these two teams played it was a 10-9 win for the Panthers. But the 49ers under estimated the Carolina Panthers' front seven defense and Collin Kaepernick also didn't have Michael Crabtree or Vernon Davis for the entire game. San Francisco is still leering after losing to the NY Giants in the NFC conference championship game two years ago and last year's Super Bowl defeat at the hands of Baltimore.

This is a hungry, battle-tested and determined 49er team. Now Cam Newton is extremely talented but you never know where his head and his heart are at. Can he play disciplined? Does he realize the magnitude of this game?

SF has zero weaknesses, you can't find a big advantage anywhere for any team they play. QB? Ill take Kaep in a big game. Coach? harbaugh up with the best of them Defense? Gimme SF. This is the Playoffs, stop worrying about RLM in games that are close to Pick, the better teams win these games more often than not. Regular season you would have valid point because loss wouldn't hurt too much, but not in post-season.

I totally agree. Carolina is not a bullshit team and they have the resume to prove it. They beat NE, NO, and SF. Next weekend will be easier to cap.

I kind of like Carolina coming off the bye week and with home field. I teased Carolina to +9.5 with Denver -2.5. I actually see Carolina winning outright and Denver winning by 10 plus so a parley would be a solid bet but I took the conservative root and went with the teaser.

I can see the bye actually hurting a streaking Panthers squad. And Cam and company have had a week to sit there and get nervous about a pissed off 49ers squad with a chip on their shoulders and revenge in mind.

Carolina, both the team and the fans, are going to be super, super, SUPER fired up. Biggest game for them in years. Everyone giving love to the 49ers is giving Carolina the "Nobody Believes In Us" edge which is the biggest edge in my mind. When Carolina wins like 20-13 or something like that, it will seem so simple in hindsight. I'm not saying to bet Carolina, I'm saying don't bet 49ers. Carolina are the #2 seed for a reason.
