I'm talking a flame throwing pitcher with an ungodly breaking ball like these 2 young studs...

Does anybody know about a pitcher on the come up who will make a big splash in the 2014 MLB season?

I know about the Japanese Cy Young Tanaka ... but who else?

also any word on who is going to snag Tanaka?

Archie Bradley and Taijuan Walker have a decent shot to contribute right away

Look for Jamison Tallion near June for the Pirates, he has unreal stuff

like the other guys mentioned, 90% of the time teams won't break camp with their studs, so that the organization can avoid paying them arbitration a year earlier and maintain the maximum amount of ownership of a prospect.

true + its good to bring them up midway thru the year as a secret weapon for the playoff run..

that way teams don't have a good scouting report on them or atleast they havent faced them many times.

My Yankees will snatch up that Japanese guy.

Last year was a fukking embarrassment and the Bronx Bombers won't tolerate that shit again.

I'm ashamed that the Yankees as a whole couldn't give Rivera and Pettite a better final season.

Possibly Tyler Glasnow as a Sept roster expansion call up to man the Pen for the Pirates in their stretch run towards 100 win season

but more likely he'll be a 2015 kid

All but Luebke are on everyones radar already.

Beachy is filthy, thing is he can't keep healthy.

                            Archie Bradley in 'Zona too.
Dylan Bundy had TJ surgery, if he's good to go, look out.

Whose overrated? The Yankees or the Japanese guy?

If it is the Japanese guy, I can believe that. Those Tournaments in Japan where they have guys pitch multiple games day after day is brutal.

After Harvey ruining his arm that fast I doubt the Mets are going to push any of the young kids no matter how bad the team sucks.

I sure would have loved to see what Chapman could have done in that 1 game playoff vs Pittsburgh

cant believe no one before me mentioned giolito......kid prob would have been the first high school righthander taken #1 but he missed his senior season because of elbow problems.....had tj surgery in 2012...came back last year and pitched well in limited work.....this kid compares to wacha prob better than any other pitching prospect

might be hard for him to make it to the bigs this year because the nats have alot of starting pitching.....and theyve dealt with strasburg.....but this kid has insane potential

Dusty got canned 5 seconds after his decision to start Cueto in that one game playoff and they lost.

might be hard for him to make it to the bigs this year because the nats have alot of starting pitching.....and theyve dealt with strasburg.....but this kid has insane potential

guy has pitched 14 innings at low A ball. Still got A+, AA, and maybe AAA before we talk about a debut.

more like 2015 or 2016 for him

I'll say Robert Stephenson (Cin), but probably won't be in the majors until 2015.

dylan bundy shot from a ball to the bigs in his first full pro season....its not likely...but it isnt impossible for giolito to do the same.....again....he compares to wacha prob better than any other pitching prospect out there imo

If it is the Japanese guy, I can believe that. Those Tournaments in Japan where they have guys pitch multiple games day after day is brutal.
Guys the Japanese pitcher may win cy young. His stuff is that good.

Japanese players always do well their first year in the show .
