You and I both know "late movement" means dick these days (as does RLM). Books have wised up to this strategy, RR. See Saturday in college hoops. You would've been buried all the way to China if you went with this strategy there.

Also, books are spooked by KenPom and his "predictions." It's almost laughable now.

I agree with what you're saying in theory, but why in the hell would the books make Duke +4 or +4.5 and pay out the Yankees of college basketball as a +170 dog? To me, if Duke was the play, they would've been +2/+2.5. That would've been bait to get most people to take the Devils.

It's kind of like Iowa/Michigan State on Tuesday. Spartans are +5.5. Books are begging you to take MSU. But like I said, KenPom's shit offsets what the books think; before him, they used to set their lines independently. Now they just copy his homework.

If you're going to follow this strategy, just stick to pro games. They make more sense as far as reading lines go. College too unpredictable.

To me, a good example of how fvcked up the books are right now with KenPom's influence was the Norfolk State/Savannah State line tonight. Norfolk is a dog on the road despite being five games better record-wise than SS. In the old days, you could hammer an "inferior" team like SS and cash it automatically. That's when books were making their own lines. Now they just tail KenPom and get buried, so you really have no idea what to think because oddsmakers don't either. Norfolk is +2, public's 75% on the dog ML, Norfolk wins easily. I saw it happen over and over and over again on Saturday. I can all but guarantee you KenPom had a line on this game that was almost identical to the +2 you saw in Vegas.

Arch isn't a professional oddsmaker, though (and don't get me wrong, I have all the respect for him in the world). Duke will never be +8 vs. anyone. They're still Duke. Bottom line is if they show up the way they did tonight, they can beat anyone -- which is why they're never really worth betting against (or even on). Well that, and Lang had Pitt.

Pitt's loss killed the parlay, and you said you were going to play them anyway but didn't.

I'm not understanding why you aren't taking either EWU or the Kings. If you were going to go all-in with a parlay including them, why wouldn't you play them SU?

I just think the lines are much more "accurate" (or manipulated, depending on your belief) in the pro game. By in large, Vegas gives you a layup or two a night in the NBA and the NFL.
