At this point in the season, no question he's the front runner for the vezna. Best season of his career so far

Big time. Leafs have needed to be blown up for years now. They keep thinking they have a quick fix here and there. They've missed the playoffs countless years and seem to keep assuming it's the coaches fault. How has the firing of Carlyle gone so far? They are absolutely brutal. Time to rebuild from the ground up

Carlyle actually had the audacity to want the team to be responsible defensively. Imagine!

These sabermetric guys to whom Shanahan has handed the keys to the kingdom hate stuff like that. It's all about puck possession; things like blocked shots and hits are frowned upon. I heard a revealing stat the other day: Toronto leads the league in takeaways. That's like crack cocaine to statheads, yet the team absolutely blows.

I don't know how many more people Shanahan can blame before the axe finally falls on his reign. Clarke managed to last forever in Philly, so who knows?
