caught a glimse of this as I was switching between games, something about a ball being batted forward, being unchallengable.

Pitt blocked a field goal.

They had a guy make a quick recovery and attempted to pitch it to a teammate. The pitch was unsuccessful and the ball was loose on the ground. Pitt guy then batted it out of bounds. Ruling was 1st and 10 GB on penalty for "batted ball"

First thing, the Pitt player recovered the fumble, they had possession pre-penalty, so it should have been there ball post penalty. Next, the player who tried to toss it was actually down by contact. But the refs ruled that it wasn't challengeable. Apparently down by contact and recovery of a fumble are not reviewable anymore in the NFL
